Empowering Young Women Leaders in Portugal

Girls For Girls Portugal is dedicated to empowering young women through leadership training, mentorship, and education in negotiation, finance, and entrepreneurship, fostering confidence and skills for lasting success.

Empowerment and Leadership for Young Women

Girls For Girls Portugal offers transformative training and mentoring, equipping young women with values-based leadership, negotiation, decision-making, public speaking, and entrepreneurial skills. Our programme is based on these foundations:

Mentorship

Connecting mentees with experienced women leaders from national and global spheres to inspire and guide their growth.

Community Building

Creating safe spaces for women to share experiences, build confidence, and
expand their networks.

Gender Equality Advocacy

Promoting inclusive leadership and challenging traditional gender
norms in both public and private sectors.

Our Approach

Girls For Girls Portugal has partnered with universities and institutions to host bootcamps and workshops for girls and young women. Our programmes are based on these key pillars.

Courageous Leadership

Mentees identify leaders they admire, as well as leadership qualities in themselves.

Values in Decision-Making

Mentees learn models and reflect on the moral, ethical and value base that inform the decisions they make.

Negotiation and Advocacy

Mentees learn a framework for negotiating and for speaking up for issues that are important to them.

Public Leadership and Community Service

Mentees consider how they may step into decision making roles in the private sector, civil society, government.

The Art of Communication

Mentees learn to use a framework, tools and techniques to become effective and persuasive communicators.

Girls For Girls Portugal Impact Report

Girls For Girls (G4G) was born in in Harvard Kennedy School in 2017. A group of their public administration post-graduate women leaders recognized that women are held back from leadership positions around the world. To close this gap, they developed a series of modules aimed at girls and young women.

In Portugal, Girls For Girls works to address systemic and self-imposed barriers to women’s leadership by empowering young women to embrace leadership opportunities and roles in both the private and public sectors.
